“Sarah's team turned our 1920s walk-in into a functional dressing room in two days. They labeled every drawer. The system has held up for six months.”
Professional home organizing, restored across the DMV.
Home Organizer DCis Washington's longest-running professional organizing company. Since 2014, Sarah Whitfield and her team of 8 have rebuilt 1,240+ homes: closets, pantries, garages, full-home unpacks, and senior downsizes across Washington DC, Montgomery County, and Northern Virginia. NAPO Golden Circle, NASMM SMM-C, ICD-CPO certified.

Six services, one outcome: every drawer accountable.
Sarah's team handles the whole arc, from a single closet edit to a multi-week senior downsize. Every project includes the project scope, the custom system, the materials, the install, and the labels.
The same rooms, rebuilt.
Drag the slider on any image. These are real client projects from Georgetown, Bethesda, and Vienna. Photos taken six months after install to confirm the systems still hold.

Sarah Whitfield, NAPO Golden Circle. Building order in the DMV since 2014.
Sarah founded Home Organizer DC in 2014 after a decade as a corporate litigator at a Penn Quarter firm. The transition started as a side project organizing friends' DC rowhouses; by year two it was a waiting list. She holds the NAPO Golden Circle credential, is ICD-certified for clients with chronic disorganization, and is one of fewer than 80 SMM-C senior-move managers active in the mid-Atlantic. Sarah lives in Cleveland Park with her husband and twin daughters.

Not sure where to start? Talk to an organizer this week.
One short call. We'll listen, ask about your rooms, and tell you honestly whether organizing is the right move right now, or whether you need a mover, a stager, or just a weekend. No pitch.
Mostly federal lawyers, foreign-service families, and judges.
Our typical client is a busy DC-area professional homeowner who wants the closet rebuilt once, properly, in a way that survives a six-month audit. Here's what they say.
“We moved from Brooklyn with a six-year-old and a baby. Diana's crew unpacked our entire house in 36 hours. Kid's room was done first so bedtime worked the first night.”
“Hired them to help my mom downsize from a 4-bed Colonial to a 2-bed condo. NASMM certification was the deciding factor. Worth every penny.”
“I'm a federal prosecutor with chaotic hours. Jen rebuilt my pantry from scratch — I actually use what's in there now. Quiet, efficient, no judgment.”
“Their garage system survived an entire DC summer. Pegboard tools, labeled bins, sports gear sorted by kid. Husband says it's the only room he wants to be in now.”
“I have ADHD and have hired three organizers in five years. Rachel was the only one who got that I need systems, not aesthetic. Closet still functional 8 months later.”

Questions we hear most.
Anything not covered here? Call us or send a note. Sarah's team answers personally.
Most projects start with you reaching out by form or phone. Sarah or a senior organizer follows up within one business day to talk through the space and what you'd like to change. From there, sessions run 4 to 8 hours with a 2-to-3-person crew. A walk-in closet usually finishes in one day. A whole-home unpack runs 36 to 48 hours. We never bill by the hour for materials we haven't installed.
Get in touch. Then a closet. Then the rest of the house.
